REV-OPOLY which is a monopoly-inspired game with AR intervention is a board game that comes in three forms, physical board, web-based and mobile application. The implementation of AR board games in the classroom is undoubtedly exciting and attracts players to be more involved in the learning process. Although it takes time to learn the rules and features of the board game, once the players are accustomed to the gameplay it is a fun and interactive method to learn and review a topic in their studies. The positive side of the AR board game is the attractive 3D features that allow the players to be immersed in the game. REV-OPOLY received a SoTL grant from Universiti Utara Malaysia in 2020. In all three forms, REV-OPOLY is aimed to be used as part of learning specifically for the undergraduate students who enroll in Computer Application in Management subject in Universiti Utara Malaysia. The physical board of REV-OPOLY can be used within the class. The second prototype is the web-based REV-OPOLY which is accessible at https://www.board.rev-opoly.com. The web REV-OPOLY is fully working and can be accessed and played at any time. The third REV-OPOLY is the mobile application called REV-OPOLY ON THE GO. The prototype is working and has been tested by the students. Improvements are currently being done to it. It is planned to be available on the Google Play Store once it is fully ready to be released. REV-OPOLY covers the topic of the emerging technology revolution. The board can be scanned as AR to show information in 3-dimensional text, image, animation, video, and audio. It also serves as a new learning experience, where they can learn while playing as an alternative to reading slides or books. Through this game, students’ comprehension level will be assessed in terms of the student's ability to (1) make explicit references to previous learning, (2) apply the knowledge to the game, and (3) convert the knowledge gained to be part of the revision process. As a result of their exposure to the evolution of technology and future trends analysis, students will be able to identify, present, and apply relevant technical solutions to various business and management situations. In terms of the Technology Readiness Level, three prototypes of REV-OPOLY are available and have been tested among the students. Based on a study conducted on 100 undergraduate students enrolled in the Computer Application in Management subject in Universiti Utara Malaysia, students showed improvement in each test as they have a better understanding of the topic. Students who showed improvement agreed that the AR elements in REV-OPOLY helped them to understand the topic more promptly. In line with Sustainable Development Goal 4: Quality Education, which aims to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all, the use of technology such as AR in curricula and assessments could be a catalyst in the higher education sector.
